Photography Weekend at Portsalon Luxury Camping
We will be holding a photography weekend May 20th – 22nd 2016. Cost of the weekend is €350 per person (based upon two people sharing) or €395 for single occupancy.
You will stay in a yurt on our site for two nights and have the opportunity to improve your photography skills in a fun and relaxed setting with local photographer Paul McGuckin.
You will check in at your luxury yurt at Portsalon Luxury Camping in the afternoon and your first photography session with Paul will include a trip to the beautiful Ballymastocker Bay followed by a relaxing evening meal in the local pub.
Today will be spent in Genveagh National Park exploring a range of genres, including landscape, architecture, documentary, flora and fauna. You’ll also have some time to explore the area on your own.
Back at the yurts in the evening we will review your shots then enjoy a barbeque and camp fire followed by taking fun long exposure night time shot to recreate the night yurt shot on this website.
Dawn shot at Fanad Lighthouse followed by a hearty Irish breakfast then a trip to Great Pollet Sea Arch.
Paul McGuckin MFA is a commercial and documentary photographer working in both digital and film photography. His commercial work is varied; one day he could be shooting landscapes, the next he’s producing images for a band’s album cover, the next he’s photographing cutting edge architecture. His documentary work is equally varied. From spending seven days at sea on the Jeanie Johnston tall ship, to a Year in the Life at An Grianan Theatre, to being a commissioned artist for Derry City of Culture 2013. He is also founder of the Remote Photo Festival, a new photography festival in Donegal, which launched in May 2015. This event was a fantastic success and is destined to go from strength to strength and put Donegal on the worldwide photography map.
